5 TRENDS TO HAVE IN YOUR CLOSET THIS FALL

In case you missed it, last week I got to experience the magic of Vegas Market with Ms. Linda, owner of SOMETHINGchic. Let me tell ya, it was an experience and kudos to ya'all boutique owners. For 2-3 days, you're surrounded by hundreds of brand booths, meeting brand reps, checking out their new collections up close and personal, looking at new brands + placing orders for upcoming seasons. Let me tell you, this is not for the weary. Your brain literally does not get a second to breath, but you can't help but to feel inspired. From booths with mannequin’s heads bursting flowers out of their heads, DJ booth's + upcoming fashion everywhere… it's visually overwhelming. In the best way possible.

Let's get to business. Summer isn't quite over yet, but let's start rolling out of the hot girl summer mindset. We're looking ahead to seasons of pleated skirts, dark chocolate cashmere sweaters + pumpkin spice everything. This year we are finding out we are all eager to tuck the lounge wear away and actually put on an outfit for the day. Here are 5 fashion trends you are going to see while scrolling IG the next few months:

1. 90's revival

Let's be real, my skinny jeans are not going anywhere BUT mom jeans, boyfriend fit, and boot cuts are back. When wearing baggy fits on the bottom, pair a slim fit tee or tuck in your shirt (or bodysuit) to help balance your silhouette. Have you seen the fun cross-front waists? I'll be sticking to by high waisted jeans to help hold in my dessert after dinner, but they are a super cute detail.

BLANKNYC was a denim brand that I was obsessing over. They have obsession-worthy fits, design + fabric. High quality jeans for reasonable pricing. Their jeans are like slipping into a second skin.

3. Platform shoes

Did those giant black platform shoes that would make the loud "flop" noise every.freaking.step come to mind? Yup, those bad boys were EVERY where at Market. Luckily, they have transformed from the original black cylinder blocks and spiced them up! From sneakers, booties + laced up boots - platforms (or flatforms) they are one of the top shoe trends this season. It's a fun chic way to elevate your outfit and give your feet a break from your stilettos.

Dolce Vita was introduced to me in Linda's store, but I fell even more in love with them at Market. They radiate main character energy, thoughtful details + solid price points. These are a pair (or two) that need to be in your closet!

4. Puff, puff..

Puffer coats and bags are not just functional pieces, they are staple pieces. Let's break it down. Puffer coats started making their way back in last winter and they are here again, just starting a little earlier in the Fall. Black is always a classic color to have in your closet. I was obsessed with this matte black puffer from Deluc, however now is also time to include bright color blocks like orange, blue or purple.

What about those handbags that double as pillows? I like to call this functional fashion. You might have noticed that every brand all the way to Saint Laurent is on board with this trend. It's taken me a second to warm up to this, but I am finally proclaiming my support. Safe to say, puffer trends are not just for jackets.

5. Knitwear

I know what you're thinking and no, I am not talking about your grandpa's knit vest. From sexy cut out sweater dresses to cozy duster coats, think fitted midi + maxi skirts, cords sets or a belted sweater dress with knee high boots.  These pieces are going to be great for the colder season and layering. Throw a shacket over your mini and you are set.
