23’ SPRING TREND FORECAST
It’s time to talk Spring/Summer fashion trends this year! We will see some carry over from fall/winter, but some new trends will be making a debut this year. Let’s get to it 👀
For this upcoming season we will see a clash of extremes like 3D floral to more elevated basics. In my opinion, this year has a slight shift from the extreme sexiness we saw last year with the ultra-miniskirts from the Y2K inspo last year, transitioning to sheer textiles. Hints of the Y2K era will still linger with cargo pants, but we will just see them a little more elevated with more attention to tailored details. In terms of color, both ends of the spectrum will be trending. We will see wardrobes fundamentals with the blacks and beiges on one end to the Barbiecore trend on the other showcasing softer color pallets including baby blue and sunset tones.
Fashion should be fun, not confusing. The past couple of years I had a hard time taking runway trends and translating them into everyday real life. So, stay tuned for a series I am going to start, showing how you can take runway trends to your everyday looks! Here are 5 easy trends that can be translated into your real and everyday life with minimal effort.
HEAVY METALS
Metallics are not anything new especially around the holidays, but not so common for Spring or everyday wear. From coats, bottoms to accessories; metallic touches will bring a chic touch to your daytime wardrobe. I personally am looking forward to playing with this trend this Spring! To keep it low-key you can pair of metallic trousers with a white t-shirt and tennis shoes or a dusted metallic bag with a LBD and jean jacket.
Chic Sheer
Last Spring, I feel like we bared it all with the YK2 vibes and this year we are doing so again but in a more playful way just showing glimpses of the body, which I personally love. We’ve already seen this trending lingering with the sheer long sleeve shirts we have been seeing, but now we are taking it with all other pieces of clothing. Bodycon dresses, pants, skirts and shirts - they have found a way to make it sheer. I personally love the last photo above because it’s something I would actually wear and I love the metal body armor, which is also another big trend this Spring.
Relaxed Denim
Relaxed denim, aka dad/mom jeans. Again, nothing we haven’t seen before, and you probably already have a pair or two in your closet. This year you will see different takes on the relaxed denim with the cargo and buckle trends. Personally, Abercrombie and Fitch jeans are my jam. Great price point and so many different fit options.
shoe trends
Nothing new and crazy here. Well, besides they puff shoes, but I did not include those because there is no way in hell you will catch me in those LOL
Per usual we are seeing past trends come back around. Rain boots (Hi Hunter Boots) and ballet flats!
coats
There was nothing super new seen in the coat scene on the trends. Bomber jackets made it another season along with the leather trench coats and textured jackets (🙌🏻) Denim made its way up to coats whether it was a classic jean jacket or a denim blazer #hellocanadiantuxedo
